The reception!

I have been wanting to do this post in the worst way, but I needed to post in order. This was the best reception EVER!!! It was so much fun, and Kyleigh had the time of her life dancing. She was so fun to watch, I have about a bazillion pictures of her dancing. The music was so fun, and it was so nice to see Justin's extended family too! Notice in the 4th pic Kyleigh is in the center of the circle, funny kid!

The Sealing!

The purpose of this trip was to see our nephew Michael get sealed to his fiance Karen. I was so glad we were able to go, it definitely reminded me of the day I was married to my best friend, Justin of coarse! It was so fun to watch them and see the love in their eyes, I only got a little emotional.

Temple Square

When we arrived in Utah we drove to Temple Square where we met up with my sister Nicole. It was a lot of fun and Kyleigh was so excited to see her Auntie. We didn't have a lot of time, but enough to do some quick tours. We saw the Christus, the Tabernacle and the SL Temple, it was great. I'm so glad I was able to go with my sister. I have only been to Temple Square one other time, that I can remember, and it was with her, so I'm glad we were able to go again. After that we went with her to school so she could take a quick quiz, we met her class, and then went back to her house for the night. Thanks Nicole for letting us crash at your house for the weekend, sorry for leaving our cold at your house.

First plane ride!

We took a trip to Utah this past Thursday for our nephews wedding, which was great. The trip started out with a plane ride, it was a first for both kids. Kyleigh loved it!!! She kept asking when the plane was going to move, and when it finally did she yelled, "woohoo!" It was so fun to watch the excitement in her eyes, she just loved it. Evan was pretty good too, he was a little upset just after take-off when his ears needed to pop. When we first took off he wouldn't let go of my arm. He would bury his face into his car seat and he just kept pulling my arm. Finally he calmed down a bit, and I thought if I took him out of his car seat and held him on my lap, he just might fall asleep. YEAH RIGHT! He wouldn't stop moving. I am glad he was having fun too. Thank goodness for Grandma and Grandpa Lothyan to help with the kids as well. Also, sorry for some fuzzy pics, and Evan did have a cold so please excuse the boogery nose. :)

The tomato plant

I love the dollar bins at Target. This summer I found a grow your own tomato plant in the dollar bin. I bought it for Kyleigh for some kind of reward. We planted the tiny seeds and watered them. She was so excited when the first signs of life appeared. As it grew we transplanted it into a bigger pot. I could not believe this plant was actually growing this big. Summer came and while everyone was getting tomatoes off their plants ours wasn't even close to growing tomatoes. Kyleigh was still so proud of her plant. FINALLY it showed signs of growing tomatoes, but summer was ending. With some advice from my father-in-law we babied that plant, and brought it in each night so it wouldn't get to cold. I couldn't believe that tomatoes were growing and turning red. Well, Kyleigh enjoyed the fruits of her labor (mine really) and she enjoyed each tomato as it would ripen. Needless to say we have had fresh tomatoes off the vine even through Christmas. It has been through alot, many spills, Evan digging in it, and yet it persevered. On New Years Day it was time to take the plant to the yard waste. We couldn't stand having in our house anymore. Poor Kyleigh! She said her good-byes twice and after the deed was done she cried, begging for her tomato plant back. We explained that it was time for it to go, but we can grow another one this year. Thank goodness I still have seeds and we will get an early start this year so they will be ready in the summer time! Plus I think I'm finally caught up on my blog for now!

Kidney update

For all those inquiring minds just a little update on my Kidneys. After my appointment was cancelled to get my stent out because of the snow, I was rescheduled for Christmas Eve. In my x-ray along the stent was a trail of stones that had not yet passed, and my stent had actually fallen out of my kidney and was twisted around in my bladder. (If you want to stop reading it's just fine.) My Dr. was shocked that it had come out. She asked me if I was in any pain, not much, just felt like I had a bladder infection. :) We next discussed my future. Since I had three rather large stones, I am high risk for getting them again. Great, thanks dad! (Gotta love genetics) Anyways, I get to stop eating certain foods, chocolate being on of them...hello holiday's. I also get to drink massive amounts of water for the rest of my life. I know it will be good for me in the long run, it's just hard to drink that much water for me. Good news, if I decide to eat foods on the bad list I just have to drink more water. So I get the stent out, and by the weekend my kidneys not feeling so well, and again the bladder infection feeling is back. The pain wasn't to bad, just uncomfortable. On Monday I go in for another x-ray and back to her office and what does she see on the x-ray. A blockage of stones! She told me I must have high pain tolerance because grown men would be crawling into her office in pain. I'm glad to know I can handle it. So what does this blockage mean? Surgery again the next day. So off to the hospital again, where they knock me out, unclog the stones and lasered more just to make sure they wouldn't get stuck. On Tuesday I go in and get my second stent out which I'm positive has stayed in since I can feel it in my kidney. Hopefully everything has passed and this problem will be gone FOREVER! I know this was a lot of info. but this blogging thing is a great journal!

Christmas! (I know I'm a little late)
